The New Journey............. Enter the Homeless.....

MiKael's Mania - Arabian Horses Archive on March 10, 2011, 1:20 am

Part OneIt was the beginning of summer when I encountered the homeless people in the park. Before I realized their status there, I had become involved in a conversation with the woman as we began to talk about horses. With all of the pressure of the lawsuit on me such a conversation just didn't happen without some form of mention of it and Storm. That's when this woman volunteered the information she was a paralegal and she would like to help me with my paperwork if she could. After I invited them

by ddog777, age 13 Freedom rings, Freedom calls, But what do horses have to do with it at all? They led battle in any war at all, Until their last great fall. They carried sick, They carried dead, Where families would meet with great dread. Across enemy lines, they poured, To give news about the one true Lord. They gave their countries all they had, Till they died because times were too bad. More to read...Rejoice in Freedom Freedom What I Call Freedom

The other day I drove south to clean a few stalls and ride a couple horses for the Old Cowboy. Sheza has developed sarcoids over the past few months, however, and one of them was beneath where the saddle sits. Up until now, I'd continued to ride, as it really didn't seem to be irritating her, and it was quite small. Now, some of you may be asking what a sarcoid is. I'd heard of them for the first time a few years ago, but had never had a first hand encounter until now. There are several forms of

Happy boy

Dressage Mom Archive on March 9, 2011, 2:58 am

Kaswyn is happy. Right now he's sound. And so happy that I was riding him (I didn't work him hard, I just wanted to see if he was sound on a straight line instead of on a circle on the lunge line) that I could hardly keep him from cantering. But he was sound and happy. So am I. Let's keep this up, huh?

The New Journey........ Just More Stuff........

MiKael's Mania - Arabian Horses Archive on March 9, 2011, 1:28 am

Part OneSomewhere after the Region 5 All Arabian Horse Championship Show, I learned the owners of both horses MD had in her care were getting more and more disgruntled. While neither woman was initiating a coversation with me about the situation, when I spoke about my concerns over the deteriorating relationship with MD and GD, I guess it only made sense the topic would shift from my issues with them to their issues with them. I found myself in the predicament of listening to both women tell me

Happy Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras & Finally A Hint Of Spring!

MidWestHorse Archive on March 8, 2011, 5:54 pm

Will some one please explain to me, how Miss Kola can freak over a white plastic horse eating bag and yet graciously dress for the Mardi Gras occasion and pose............Mind you, the mask kept falling in her face. She was quite enamored with the purple boa............Hilarious!Misty was not quite as pleased, but played along anyhow.........I never did get her hat donned. Both girls' blankets came off today and I'm quite pleased to see their body scores.........Not so bad. Jeremiah will be here

Part OneI never did hear from GD about which classes she had entered at the horse show. I figured I had done enough to get the information at this point. The schedule was too spread for it to be reasonable to pick a date and hope I made a class GD had entered by just showing up. I did go midday on the last day of the show to see the yearling halter classes. I arrived just in time to see GD's class moving across the courtyard after leaving the arena. WF walked by me and spoke directly to me, which

Donate Your Car to Help Animal Shelters

smellshorsey Archive on March 7, 2011, 9:34 pm

It's been a long time since I've posted anything on this or any other blog. Today I got an opportunity to write a post that will help animal shelters, so in memory of my dog, Parker (pictured), I decided it was time to break my silence and write about SPCA car donation. Somebody, somewhere has probably come up with a statistic for the percentage of horse people who also own dogs. Based on the horse people I know, it's probably close to 100 percent, with many people owning more than one

The New Journey............. Unexpected Input............

MiKael's Mania - Arabian Horses Archive on March 7, 2011, 1:28 am

Part OneNot long after we had been to court for our first hearing, I got a call from one of my horse friends. She was calling to tell me that I should "keep the faith, " in her words. She wanted me to know there were lots of people in the industry locally rooting for me in my lawsuit. According to her, people I didn't even know were pulling for me to get my horse back. Ya gotta love that grapevine, it doesn't miss a thing, even though I was pretty much keeping the details of this case to myself. After

by Julie, age 17 You will pick up the reins, your heart fluttering with excitement. When you use your hands, you will jerk the reins too hard. Your horse, irritated with you, will swish his tail and toss his head. You will apologize by letting go, by releasing, and your horse will thank you. He will trot forward. You will be expected to stand up in “two-point” position, But your body will protest this ungodly physical effort, And your legs will shake, And the first few times you will only be

The New Journey............. A Dicovery............

MiKael's Mania - Arabian Horses Archive on March 6, 2011, 1:27 am

Part OneSometime in the late spring, I learned that GD was telling people that I hated her. MD was also repeating to others that my GD believed that to be the case. People hearing it thought this information was being shared as some proof of some short coming in me for the purpose of turning others against me. This behavior was, however, having the opposite effect on the people that knew me. I have no idea how others were reacting to it. I didn't know what to think when I was confronted with this

by HorseFeathers, age 17 Mum says there is a time in every girl’s life when she has to take responsibility and learn how to drive. Yeah Right. You won’t see me getting into one of those rolling bombs. Wild horses couldn’t even drag me close enough. Well, they could, but that’s beside the point. See, I live near the small country town of Celeena, Ohio. Nothing ever happens here… nothing. I mean, the community’s idea of a good time is a game of “corn hole” or “hillbilly golf.”

Part OneThere is a downside to the broad sweeping statement I had used in my reply to their counterclaim. You darn well better be telling the truth because, if you are not, it could come back and bite you in the b*tt later. If you have overlooked a statement that was truth and have now denied it in this statement, then you have affected your credibility should the court happen to notice.Credibility was pretty much this entire case. It was all going to come down to providing to the court adequate
