Rainbow Tears

GirlsHorseClub.com Blog Archive on March 22, 2011, 11:00 am

by HorseWings, age 15 I feel the warm back of a bay horse, Running swiftly under me, I look ahead, between her ears, At the paths that wind on endlessly. I feel her soft mane brushing, Up against my face, I lean upon her neck, Ready for a race, The paths they keep on changing, But I don’t care a bit, Sometimes the sun is shining, Sometimes the stars are it. There’s something magical, About this bond, this place, this time, And suddenly, I wake, And find that I am crying. I pull Lilly

TNJ.................... More Issues with BG's Added Charges.........

MiKael's Mania - Arabian Horses Archive on March 22, 2011, 12:32 am

Part OneAs if the whole fiasco with Louie at the horse show was not enough, the next item on BG's accounting sheet really takes the cake as far as I am concerned. This item appeared as d) Damage to horse trailer $825. (Hauling Louie from Region V)BG talked to me about this damage maybe a week or more after the horse show and showed me the trailer. To be honest I don't know if my horse did the damage to that trailer or not. I did not see which slot the horse was loaded into the trailer.Considering

When Is A Truck, Not Actually A Truck

MidWestHorse Archive on March 21, 2011, 4:28 pm

No offence to anyone who owns one of these, but Stephen and I had one hell of a giggle this morning as we stopped at Tractor Supply Company so that I could pic up the horses' wormer. Mind you we already had 100 pounds of grain in the Jag........Anyhow, we watched as the couple before us attempted to..........................put one of these in that white (truck?) . Between the two of them, they had many attempts at it. It would not fit in the back or bed or whatever one would call it. It would not

March Show - Saturday

Dressage Mom Archive on March 21, 2011, 12:12 pm

I wasn't feeling 100% when I got to the show but I was going to ride anyway. I read a test for a friend of mine who was also showing, braided Lee, helped prep Pip for her first class. She was scared of one of the corners by the judge and spooked and carried on a bit, so during the lunch break I spent an hour with the gal riding her and we walked Pip around that end of the arena. I was hoping she'd relax and realize that nothing was going to eat her, but she still spooked in the same place in her

Trailer Trip

Equine Mine Archive on March 21, 2011, 5:57 am

The rain, the snow, the mud can't slow the girls of Painted Forest Stables down. We decided to load up and check out some new trails. I was nervous. This new trailer is a straight load, 17 feet long, and much heavier than my previous Trails West. Not to mention...I haven't worked Maddy in and out of the trailer, so I wasn't sure what she would think. Skye and Maddy loaded right in. When we got to the location, she was sweating pretty good, so the ride must have been a little nerve racking for her.

TNJ................ Louie's Experience at Region 4.....

MiKael's Mania - Arabian Horses Archive on March 21, 2011, 2:07 am

Part OneBecause Louie did not get shown at the first show, I guess I missed BG's role in getting horses from his barn into the ring. Had I noticed that BG really did not do anything to see that horses were prepared to show maybe I could have saved Louie some of the trauma that happened at the second show. I certainly would have known not to rely on BG to act like a trainer in any way had I been paying attention.Even thinking about this experience and others with BG at the horse show causes me to

March Show - The week before

Dressage Mom Archive on March 20, 2011, 11:46 am

Before I get to updating on what happened at the show, let me back up and tell what happened the week before the show. Macey had been coughing for about a week with a cold. We didn't do anything about it (because if you take them to the doctor like that they will tell you "It's a virus." and do nothing for you anyway), but then on Wednesday morning she started running a fever. So I took her to the doctor and they did a throat swab because she said her throat hurt. The rapid strep test came back negative,

Making a Splash

Mustang Diaries Archive on March 20, 2011, 4:05 am

The sun came out today for the first time in what felt like an eternity. Not only was it out, but it was almost feeling warm...you know, like spring!Darling said she had a hankering for wanting to ride Steve Holt!, so after she was done in the round pen, I went outside and snapped a couple photos of her crossing the creek. They didn't end up being much good, at least not in terms of something that could be used for marketing the big goober boy. But this one made me giggle, what with the big splash

TNJ.......... A Little about Louie....... the First Show......

MiKael's Mania - Arabian Horses Archive on March 20, 2011, 12:48 am

Part OneAs I mentioned in the last post, BG did oversee, if that's what you want to call it, things with Louie at two horse shows. I don't really know what to call BG's role there with Louie. He didn't do what any trainer I have ever seen does in terms of taking horses to horse shows and getting them shown. At that first horse show we were there, stabled with them that part is true. If I hadn't been the one keeping track of Louie he probably would have been totally forgotten. I had to remind BG

This is Ours

GirlsHorseClub.com Blog Archive on March 19, 2011, 2:48 pm

by Madelaina, age 15 I see you’re waiting, The top of your mane radiating With the wealth of the sunset, And the swishing of your tail Guiding the slight breeze. I see you want to run. I cannot run, my legs are tamed, But my crutches can’t dictate how far I go. I grab for no halter, nor any rope, Nothing but your neck and some flaxen strands. And then, we simply walk. We pace down no beach, No thriving field, No forest speckled gold, Just the paddock lane. But we will be flawless – No

TNJ............. BG's Just in Case Sheet..........

MiKael's Mania - Arabian Horses Archive on March 19, 2011, 12:27 am

Part OneI'm going to skip over the big issue of BG's accounting of the training done and go directly to the last page of that sheet. That page claims that BG is entitled to over $5000 more from me based on the items listed there. Since part of those items has direct bearing on the number of horses that BG claims to have worked, it's necessary to proceed in this order. Before I progress I will reiterate BG was not entitled to credit for anything but training under the terms of our contract. There

Cabin in the Woods

Mustang Diaries Archive on March 18, 2011, 4:50 pm

Back in the day when I was a kid, we kept our horses up the road in a hidden pasture back behind some trees. There was an old homestead up there that had long been abandoned. The current owners occasionally visited for a week or two in the summer months, using it as a little vacation retreat. But a few years ago we had a great, heavy snow, and the old house simply couldn't withstand the weight. Through the bareness of the winter trees, I could make out it's collapsed roof and silently mourned. It

Horses Shot and Killed

Investigators seek public's help in finding who killed three wild horsesPRINEVILLE -- Three wild horses were found shot and killed in central Oregon east of Prineville, and investigators are asking the public for help finding who did it. KTVZ-TV in Bend reports that one of the horses was pregnant and accompanied by a year-old foal, which was found unhurt. Crook County sheriff's Deputy Brian Bottoms made the discovery around 2 p.m. Monday while on patrol in the Ochoco National Forest about 18 miles

TNJ........... More of BG's Creative Accounting......

MiKael's Mania - Arabian Horses Archive on March 18, 2011, 12:20 am

Part OnePersonally I thought the problems with BG's accounting sheet spoke loudly to the arrogance of BG and WF. They thought they could say whatever they wanted and get away with it. The problem was when you tell lies, they come back to bite you because it's hard to keep them straight. BG did not keep his facts straight in any way shape or form on that accounting sheet. If you noticed in the monthly accounting BG made references under a number of months that say "horse show did not affect." What

Happy St. Patrick's Day & A Little More.............

MidWestHorse Archive on March 17, 2011, 2:33 pm

I stole this pic, but Happy St. Patrick's Day to all.............I personally do not go out and drink and celebrate..........Haven't done so in decades, but for those of you that do, please be safe and enjoy! The girl's U-Guard I ordered has come and not a moment too soon. They always get tummy aches and are particularly "pissy" with each other during their spring heats and as usual right on cue. I find that U-Guard once started and into a week of it seems to help with gut aches and crabbiness.........Use
