Rules to Live By With Horses (and Men!)

Crystal & Cookie Archive on October 26, 2009, 2:14 am

written by Yours Truly, Crystal… after a life with both. ~  No horse (man) has everything.  You have to decide what you can live with. ~  Don’t expect your horse (men) to be remorseful after letting you down.  Their ability to emotionally reason is limited.  You’re better off if you learn this early. ~  Be wary of agents trying to set you up with a horse (man).  If he’s so great, why aren’t they riding him? ~  Not every horse (man) has to be a life time commitment.

advice quote

Crystal & Cookie Archive on October 22, 2009, 2:09 am

I love this quote. I hope all my friends who frequent this blog know how grateful I am to their overwhelming support they have shown me. With Love, Crys. When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us

Keep Holding On

Crystal & Cookie Archive on October 17, 2009, 11:37 am

You’re not alone Together we stand I’ll be by your side, you know I’ll take your hand When it gets cold And it feels like the end There’s no place to go You know I won’t give in No I won’t give in So far away I wish you were here Before it’s too late, this could all disappear Before the doors close And it comes to an end With you by my side I will fight and defend, I’ll fight and defend Yeah, yeah! Hear me when I say, when I say I believe Nothing’s

In the past 2 years, I learned more about the world and more about myself than any other time in my life. I thought of this when I read this quote from Mark Twain: Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. Here is collection of what my horse experience taught me. ~~~ 1. Travel light. You can get by

From an American to another American: Travel Tips to Germany

Crystal & Cookie Archive on October 1, 2009, 3:33 am

Although I liked Germany, there were definitely things I wish I had known before I went over. Here is a collection of tips based on the snafu’s I encountered in my time there. Many thanks to Tina, who contributed to this. 1. Have or get Euros immediately. In America, we can swipe our credit card for everything, including a $2 McFlurry at mcDonald’s. Not so much in Germany. Although I had called my bank before leaving America to make sure my Visa card would work, I was surprised at how

More Glee (for Cam….) What’s funny about it was I didn’t like it by Rihanna that much…. I guess I had to put in context. ~~~ Ohh, and the award for the best liar goes to you For making me believe that you could be faithful to me Let’s hear your speech out How about a round of applause A standin’ ovation But you put on quite a show Really had me going Now it’s time to go Curtain’s finally closing That was quite a show Very entertainin’ But it’s

‘You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar’

My thought for today: Idiom Definitions for ‘You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar’ This means that it is easier to persuade people if you use polite arguments and flattery than if you are confrontational.

Karma is not fate, for humans act with free will creating their own destiny. According to the Vedas, if we sow goodness, we will reap goodness; if we sow evil, we will reap evil.  Karma refers to the totality of our actions and their concomitant reactions in this and previous lives, all of which determines our future. The conquest of karma lies in intelligent action and dispassionate response.
