One update about the barn. It’s been going fantastic.  Never been happier with the state of the barn.   The boarders are good.  I run a really tight ship.  Don’t put up with alot.  Much easier since we built an apartment and I live onsite. So no complaints.

I get down around the holidays.  November has never been a stellar month for me… I’ll give you that. I’m already getting that dumpy feeling, tired all the time, bah humbug.  Isn’t it a little early?  Hell, I’m beating the stores with my Christmas attitude. Gonna try not to be such a scrooge.

Crystal & Cookie Archive on November 2, 2010, 11:32 am

As most of you guys know, I love taking pictures.  Every once in a while, I get a pretty decent shot…..  that someone wants to use somewhere. My issue is with photo credit.  Most legit businesses are fine with this – hell, dressage daily is even particular about where the photo belongs to before they post it.  However, the smaller, less web worldly business person takes advantage of the lowly photog. I’m not asking for money.  Asking for either my name on the pic or somewhere

Facebook is both a blessing and a curse. Of course, facebook allows me to keep up with distant cousins, high school friends, and old co workers.  You get to see pictures of kids growing up, and the mundane aspects of life. However, facebook is also annoying. I recently decided I did not have to be “friends” with people I am not really friends with.  I heard of this concept called “Unfriend Friday” and I laughed.  But later, I thought…. very interesting!  You mean,

State of Affairs

Crystal & Cookie Archive on October 24, 2010, 11:28 pm

Since I stopped blogging some 7 months ago, I thought I would catch everyone up on the state of affairs. My personal horse, Ami: …is lame.  Permanently.  So stop asking.  (LOL). In the 3 years I have owned him, I have struggled with his right front leg.  The longest I have kept him sound is 8 months.  I have cried many tears, consulted many experts, prayed many prayers.  Nothing has helped.  He still and will always limp.  It is frustrating.  I love him, I’m attached to him.

Wow. I’m back

Crystal & Cookie Archive on October 24, 2010, 1:39 am

Ha. What can I say?  I’ve been gone. I lost interest in blogging because of 2 reasons. 1, facebook took over. After you ‘twitter’ your life with the endless status updates, there is little left to blog about. I felt like all I did was bitch and complain. 2, the situation I was in… it was hard for me to blog openly and honestly. I felt censored because of my open audience, and it was too much to keep up with to have a private audience. So time has passed, and as it has come to be, I’m

Of course, most know I am interested in photography.  I love love love taking horsey pictures.  I love the pictures I took in Germany… its one of the best things which came out of Germany – I felt like I really honed in on my eye in Germany.  However, when I left Germany, I felt like I lost my muse. Anyhow, long story long, I did take some pretty cool pics the last week I was in Florida. Here are my favorite shots. Dale and Quincy Quincy and Orphan in Trailer and last, my favorite.

2010 Goals

Crystal & Cookie Archive on January 2, 2010, 2:58 am

Instead of making a New Years resolutions, I have a list of things I want to accomplish in 2010.  (sort of a bucket list, but I hate that term because its morbid). 1.  Go back to New York with friends to hang out. 2.  Show in a dressage show.  (this is more difficult than it sounds, considering I do not have a sound horse.) 3.  Make Ami’s scrapbook.  (I gave up scrapbooking after Cook died). 4.  Finish crocheting Richard’s blanket. 5.  Take a class in something crafty.  (Sewing

Christmas ‘09

Crystal & Cookie Archive on December 20, 2009, 3:07 am

This was our first attempt at Xmas pictures.  I had trouble keeping a straight face through our photo shoot.  Ami was obsessed with touching Birdie at one point… Birdie was scared of Ami nosing her… not to mention, she wasn’t happy about me picking her up. Anyhow, Ami looks happy and content, while Birdie looks like “Happy frickin’ Xmas.  Get me out of here.”
